Summary of the plot of Dino crisis 1 and 2:

DC1:

The game takes place on a fictional location known as Ibis Island, Borginia, in the year 2009. The Secret Operation Raid Team (SORT) has sent an agent, Tom, to investigate a research facility. During the recon mission, he learns that Doctor Edward Kirk, a world-renowned scientist who was reported dead three years ago, is leading a secret weapons project within the facility. SORT sends four agents (Regina, Gail, Rick, and Cooper) to acquire Kirk and return him to custody.

Once inside the base, they discover the mutilated and partially devoured corpses of security personnel and scientists. Shortly thereafter, they discover that dinosaurs are the reason behind the bloodbath at the base. They evade and dispose of many dinosaurs. During this, they find Tom, badly injured. Rick takes him to the medical room, however a Velociraptor attacks them, and Tom sacrifices himself to kill it, saving Rick. Later, Regina and the team manage to locate Kirk and apprehend him. As they are preparing to leave via helicopter, the T-Rex returns and destroys the helicopter, forcing them to flee back into the base. Kirk escapes them during this time. After the T-Rex manages to enter the base after killing three survivors in the elevator, Regina and Rick locate keys to a watercraft, but find a vortex in the way of getting to it. Regina enters a passageway and is held up by Kirk. He is about to kill her when the gun is shot out of his hand by Gail, and they arrest him again.

Kirk reveals that the dinosaurs were brought to their time by an experiment he was running using his Third Energy technology. A rift in space was created and a pocket of the island from their time was exchanged with the same from the past, bringing dinosaurs back into their time. Kirk then tells them that if the reactors are set to overload, the energy coming from them and the vortex should cancel each other out if they come into contact. After Regina gets the stabilizer and initializer and uses them to overload the reactors, the energy shakes the base, causing a vent to fall on Gail allowing Kirk to escape again. Regina, Gail and Rick get to the control room branching off to the waterway to escape, but Gail says they still need to get Kirk. He starts to hobble away on his gun to go after Kirk, and orders Regina and Rick to leave without him if he does not return in thirty minutes.

The ending results in Regina and Gail capturing Kirk. As a twist, Gail reveals that the whole mission was a front and the government did not want Kirk, but instead wanted the Third Energy to use in warfare. Gail gives Regina a disk containing all the data on the Third Energy. Shortly afterward, Gail dies from injuries suffered when the vent fell on him. Regina, Rick, and Kirk, during their departure in a watercraft, battle with the T-Rex. Regina kills it using a remote explosive, and they escape.

DC2

One year has passed since the "Third Energy" incident... Dr. Kirk's research on "Third Energy" has been taken over by a government agency, and massive research has begun at a base somewhere in the mid west. However... In the pursuit of immediate results, they have failed to take the necessary precautions, and once again an accident has occurred. This time, the entire research base, military institution, and a small town close by have disappeared.

Now, a search and rescue to recover survivors and locate the missing Third Energy research data begins. A team identified as T.R.A.T. (Tactical Reconnoitring and Acquisition Team) has been sent into another time frame, which Edward City had disappeared into. Regina, from S.O.R.T. (Secret Operations Raid Team) has been sent along due to her previous encounters with dinosaurs. On the island, the team sets up camp, but is quickly attacked by an enormous pack of velociraptors, and everyone at camp is killed except for Dylan, Regina and David. The first two are separated from David (who is fortuitously encountering heavy firepower) and eventually the two split up in order to cover more ground.

As the two struggle to stay alive, they encounter leather-clad helmeted inhabitants who are hostile towards them, but their female leader -Paula- is easily captured (saved, really). Though the girl is hostile towards Regina, she acts differently towards Dylan, almost as though she knows something about him

She and Dylan receive a distress call from David who has found survivors at Edward City. They emerge next to a dying Triceratops fawn. It cries out, alerting adult Triceratops who charge Dylan and Regina. The two escape in a nearby jeep, fending off the Triceratops with a mounted heavy machine-gun, before crashing into a field infested with Velociraptors. David heroically rescues them with a helicopter, yet when they fly over Edward City, it is under siege by the raptors. Arriving too late to save anyone, the team splits up to find the Third Energy data.

Regina discovers the Third Energy data at the Missile Silo, but is once again confronted by the persistent Tyrannosaurus Rex. Her savior is a massive Giganotosaurus that defeats the T.Rex in a brief one-sided fight. It follows Regina inside the Missile Silo, causing damage that triggers a countdown to launch. While dodging the giant dinosaur's mouth, Regina ignites gas vents to incinerate the Giganotosaur's head, rendering it comatose. Although she manages to stop the countdown, the beast awakens from its slumber, smashing the missile to the ground. Regina barely escapes the resulting explosion, fighting her way through the burning facility and more Inostrancevia to reach the patrol ship outside. She meets back up with Dylan and David, and they take the ship down river, hoping to escape further detonations from the Missile Silo. Their escape is halted by a water gate. After helping open the way through, Dylan is attacked by an Allosaurus. He is saved by David, who pushes him into the river. Dylan is swept away by the current, watching as David is eaten by the Allosaurus.

Some time later, Dylan awakes in an unknown area. The blonde girl returns, leading him into a large base complex deep in the jungle. Once inside, she plays a hologram of an army colonel who explains the truth of the disaster. Widespread time skewing was carried out in the future to study dinosaurs, with disastrous results. When it became clear dinosaurs and humans could not coexist, the military enacted the Noah's Ark Plan: they would transport the dinosaurs far into the future, before sending them back to the Cretaceous once the technology was perfected. However, there was an accident when the Noah's Ark team tried to return. The gate overloaded and was destroyed, stranding both the dinosaurs and humans far in the future. The helmeted attackers are revealed to be the only remaining children of the survivors, who were brought to the safety of the Habitat Support Facility and placed in special life support chambers. These allowed for growth and learning, but were intended for use by the dinosaurs. The holographic colonel explains that because of this, the children lost the ability to speak and were taught to co-exist with the dinosaurs, attacking anyone who threatened the animals. Finally, the hologram reveals himself to be Colonel Dylan Morton, speaking in 2055. Dylan realizes that he has been talking to a future version of himself, and that the blonde girl before him is his daughter, Paula. The hologram instructs Dylan there is a basic gate they can use to go home, but it will work only once. He pleads for Dylan to take Paula through the gate as well.

Suddenly, the facility announces that its self-destruct sequence has been activated. Dylan is attacked by the helmeted figure that triggered the self-destruct. Their fight is interrupted as the Giganotosaurus stomps inside, destroying the platform they were brawling on. The helmeted figure is killed while Dylan barely makes it to the facility controls. After re-linking a series of satellites, he triggers an orbiting laser cannon that blasts the giant dinosaur out of existence. Regina returns and they activate the gate, but a sudden earth tremor leaves Paula trapped by falling equipment. Unable to free her and with the building ready to explode, Dylan decides to stay with his daughter. He begs Regina to go back alone and find a way to save them with the Third Energy data. Regina promises to return and dashes through the gate moments before the facility explodes.

Final.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions, how did the Dylan from the future knew that the Dylan from the past would come to that facility? How many years did the survivors spend in the future?

After further research, key points and timeline:

1943
- Lt.Mike Wired is sent 3,000,000 years into the future.
- Mike is then sent back just before being shot by a plane. Paula manages to use perfected 3rd energy to stop the bullets from hitting him.

1985
- Dylan Morton is born.

1987
- Regina is born.

2006
- Dr. Edward Kirk fakes his death in a laboratory explosion. He then sets off for Ibis Island where a 3rd energy facility is being built.
- Over 150 researchers are killed in a 3rd Energy malfunction, more precautions are taken for preparations for the next attempt.

2009
- The Third Energy project is again a failure. But when dinosaurs begin to appear from the project room, workers begin preparations for evacuation. Most are happy though, because although the project didn't turn out as intended, it still performed a 'miracle'.
- Dinosaurs begin to attack, kill and eat the workers.

2010
- January 14. Edward City, The Research Facility, Military Facility and Missile Silo are sent through time. to more than 3,000,000 years later.
- May 10. Events of Dino Crisis 2 begin. A T.R.A.T. boat travels through a 'timegate' to over 3,000,000 years later. (Thinking that they were going 65 million years into the past)

2048 (Apxtly, some sites says late 2030's, others 2040's)
- Paula Morton is born. (Paula was photographed in the early part of the mission aged around 7. At least 17 years pass until the TRAT investigation supporting the ones in the research facility's ages. )

2055
- The Noahs Ark Plan is taken. To avoid a 3rd Energy related 'time crisis', The Dinosaurs are to be sent to c. 3,000,000, to avoid Humanity not existing. The plan is a success. However, the team does not return.

Here is the problem:
No dinosaurs were encountered in the first three years after the arrival of the 2010 runaway people, though it is unknown how long the dinosaurs were kept in captivity before escaping. The Noah's Ark Plan personnel could have arrived before or after.

The timeline for the Future Earth events is sketchy, though evidence points to a significant amount of time between the 2010 Third Energy runaway incident; its rescue team's time travel mission and the Noah's Ark Plan.

Taking everything into account this is the conclusion:

Future Earth - 3,000,000
- After a malfunction of the portal, the 2055's team gets trapped in the future along with the dinosaurs.
- Dinosaurs start killing the survivors.
- Paula and other children are placed into life support machines for several years to protect them from the dinosaurs.
- Dylan Morgan from the future is the last survivor and most likely dies not much later (as he already was 70 years old at 2055). Before that he records a message for the Dylan from the past. Knowing of Paula's future experiences, Morton did enough work on the timegate to guarantee a single, brief activation, so that the Dylan from the past and the others could return to the 21st century.

Future Earth - 3,000,001
- Edward City, The Research Facility, Military Facility and Missile Silo are transported to this era because of the 3rd energy incident from the year 2010. (Here there is another problem, as far as im concerned there is a twenty year gap between the 2010's survivors arrival in the future and T.R.A.T.S arrival in the future, this means that the survivors have been living for 20 years in this time, that doesn't make much sense considering Paula's age).

Future Earth - 3,000,004
- Dinosaurs spread all over the place.
- The survivors from 2010 make contact with the first dinosaurs.

Future Earth - 3,000,010 (Or 3,000,020?)
- Destruction of the military camp.
- Paula and the others awake from the life support machines, and start attacking the 2010 survivors in order to protect the dinosaurs.
- Last survivors move to Edward city and the 3rd energy facility.

Future Earth - Early 3,000,011 (Or 3,000,021?)
- Arrival of the T.R.A.T. team to rescue the survivors from the 2010 incident.
- Most of the T.R.A.T. team dies because of an attack of raptors, David, Dylan and Regina are the only survivors.
ETC (Gameplay happens in this time)

Facts:
◾The military camp was operational as late as the tenth anniversary of their arrival in this time. The Military base was the most northwestern location on the map. The facility was human territory for over ten years. When Lieutenant Wolf's team disappeared during a supply mission, this facility is thought to have been attacked and overrun as a result. It's a reception desk. It appears as though nobody has sat here for a very long time.
◾The doctor who wrote this was killed some time after during a Velociraptor attack; corpses of the camp personnel were decomposed by the time the rescue team arrived. The flesh has been ripped from his stomach to his leg. Looks like a few years have passed since his death.
◾No dinosaurs were encountered in the first three years after the arrival of the 2010 runaway people, though it is unknown how long the dinosaurs were kept in captivity before escaping. The Noah's Ark Plan personnel could have arrived before or after.
The daily logs taken by the security guards are scattered everywhere. According to the records, for a while after their arrival to this world, there were no dinosaurs see. But from a few years ago smaller sized dinosaurs started to appear around the area. Since then it seems as though the experimental activities had decreased.
◾The children grow up into teenagers (17-18) just before the Military camp is attacked.
◾Two years prior to Edward City's destruction, the nearby volcano began to 'act up', leading to Inostrancevia migration.
◾The Third Energy core is supposed to receive annual maintenance checks; the team was killed in 9 and a half years after the event. It has been more than a year since the diving suits were last used.
◾The Laboratory personnel abandoned the facility after an unknown amount of time lacking support due to the destruction of the military camp. They move to Edward City. Colonel Maison asks that the data regarding the teenagers' autopsy records be sent to him at the Third Energy Facility.
◾The autopsy data arrived at the Third Energy Facility mere days before the arrival of the T.R.A.T. team, based on examinations of the soldier sent to deliver the information.
◾The facility perimeter's enviromental data is imaged. The image shows that there used to be a jungle where Edward City is now. So in theory this should prove that the 2010 survivors arrived after the 2055 people and not before neither at the same time.
Again problem is: Maison stayed in the 3rd energy facility during the 19 or so years after the facility is transported to the future. He was supposed to get an autopsy report, but it was stolen by the helmeted teenagers.
Second Lieutenant Wolf[note 1] was an officer based at the Military Facility. Three weeks before the researchers were to move to Edward City, himself and his team failed to bring supplies to the researchers. They were never seen again; it is likely they were killed during the raptor attack on the military facility.
Bob and Alec were assigned in the ninth annual inspection of the Third Energy reactor in the complex against the lakeside. Set to arrive on June 3 via boat, a colleague, Mike, provided insight into a malfunctioning control system. Bob was assigned with the inspection of the reactor, itself, and proceeded to the reactor.

At some point during the inspection, he and Alec were killed by the marine reptiles living in the submerged complex.

Also it is likely that the vegetation there is a replica of the cretaceous era:
